Visit to Czech Republic
I spent almost a week in Czech Republic where I had the pleasure to visit several
automotive industries. Automotive sector is very important for the Tube and Pipe Industry, so
I was really excited to see what the Czechs are doing. Companies such as Senior Automotive, Cooper,
Autopal (Visteon/Ford) and Parker Hannifin among others. All of them have gone to Czech now.
It has been clear for some years that manufacturing has been
moving to some East European countries and after this visit I don't wonder why
Czech Republic became European Union member half year ago which made it easier to
supply products to EU. I t is therefore likely to see that Czech will be in the news more frequently.
On the other hand I noticed already, that salary level has been increasing in Czech which
obviously has made manufacturing companies to worry. Today the manufacturing is
based heavily on manual labor instead of automation, but now you can find also robot cells
and automated lines already.
It will be interesting to see what the future brings to Czech.
Cheers my friends
