Kent Corporation, in cooperation with a major automotive tube manufacturer, have developed a custom designed cut off blade that increased blade life by over 200%. The new blade was developed by utilizing several trial blades that addressed each of the customers problems with cut off blade life. Each variable was then modified to obtain the optimized blade. Several ramifications were run with changes in coatings, blade material, hardness, blade design, and blade finish.
