What's up now?
I have now a counter that monitors the messages that are sent through TubeNet registers. For me the number
is surprisingly high - nearly 200 messages per day from Monday to Friday. In order to prevent email spamming, I
have limited the number of sent inquiries to 9 per day for every TubeNet visitor. Unfortunately there is no way to fully
prevent all spamming, but I guess that it is the pay that needs to be paid for getting also those good inquiries through
TubeNet registers.
Tube Singapore and Fabtech Chicago
It's Tube Singapore and Fabtech in Chicago that Tube and Pipe industry is talking about. Last year we had a lot of discussion
about increasing number of Tube & Pipe shows. The bottom line was that Industry finds two shows above all: Tube Dusseldorf and
Fabtech Chicago. Now it is the time for Fabtech Chicago. Feel free to check it's List of Exhibitors on TubeNet.
What comes to other shows,
the opinions are more or less diverse. Fabtech in Cleveland and Tube Singapore are both new shows
and only the future will show us how they establish their place in industry calendar. EMO in Paris was disappointment from
tube industry point of view and it is only strengthening Tube Dusseldorf's position as a leading Tube show in Europe.
Sheet metal show Blech in Hannover has also a tube pavilion and it seems to maintain it's place somehow - even if the
industry is complaining about the increasing number of shows.
Tube Singapore is interesting because the worst time of the recession in Asian countries is now history. We have to keep
in mind that since the introduction of this show it has been affected by Asia's deep recession. My own prediction is that while the economy in Asia starts growing after the recession, it will also
boost the Tube Industry and the need for Asia's own tube show, such as Tube Singapore, is greater than ever.
As always, feel free to send me your own opinions and observations. I will never
release names form commentators. What we need
is more communication.
See you around,
Juha Haapala
