Tube International Magazine Closed
It has been brought to my attention that Tube and Pipe Magazine "Tube International" has recently closed. I feel sad because
I have had many nice talks with Sarah Sturt and Vince Maynard. (Both left from Tube International couple of years earlier).
Anyhow, the show must go on with, or without Tube International. In this situation TubeNet is going stronger than ever and is
really doing it's part of the job for Tube and Pipe Industry. By serving about 30.000
monthly visitors TubeNet generates over half million hits and about 300.000 page views at the same period of time.
Thoughts before holidays
Everybody says that the worst should be over in US, but I still cannot see any real change for better. In fact, the Dollar is just getting weaker
against EURO and book keeping scandals are not making things easier either.
Anyhow, what is real and can be confirmed is that the traffic here at TubeNet has grown fast during last month. I don't really know why it happened.
Normally such a growth takes place after the TubeNet Newsletter is sent. This time there was no Newsletter! Last week there were few days when
over 1000 visitors per day came to see TubeNet making over 17.000 hits. That is PER DAY I need to stress.
If this reflects anything about the state of Tube Industry, something should be moving on now finally.
Well, another strange thing is that summer holidays are now just starting and this activity became just before it. I wonder what
will happen when fall comes. So, you all who still have holidays ahead, please enjoy them and wait for the interesting fall to arrive.
I have had 3/4 of my holidays so now I can show what was the result of that. The Fence!
Fence and Lola
Most of you knows that I may be the worst man for doing carpenting works in this planet. Well, then we got this
idea to get a dog. I figured out that a dog means regular morning-evening walks. I do like running but such a
regular "restroom-walks" with a dog didn't sound quite right for me. (I promised to my wife that me and my kid will take care of the dog).
So, I decided to build a fence and again, badly overestimating my skills. I thought that one week will be enough to make this fence.
Now, after 5 weeks the fence starts to look like a fence. It is 50 meter's (160 feet) long and makes no-escape thing
for the dog.
The dog is very nice. It was not easy to decide what kind of dog we will get. So after searching many books from the library and
going through tens of websites, we ended up to "Cotton de Tulear" - a clown of dogs. Finland is really small country from
population point of view so I was able to locate only 5 kennels here who had "Cottons". Luck was with us, since one of them
has puppies to come soon so we ordered one. On saturday 6:th July we finally got our Cotton. Believe me that
what they say about Clown-of-dogs is true. She is grazy sometimes! It was pretty easy to figure out a name for her that
my kid and wife could agree: Lola.
This is Lola:

She is Lola: Cotton de Tulear. A dog originally from Madagasgar. A Clown-of-Dogs

If you think about a funny dog, I can recommend Cotton.
Happy holidays!
