Are things slowing down within Tube & Pipe Industry too?
Based on Standard & Poors 500-index the profits of US companies dropped some 16% on the second quarter of this year.
The figures are found from Thomson Financial/First Calls study. It has not been this slow for last 10 years in the US. Nearly all lines of
businesses are facing the same. Of course the worst it is with the Information technology sector, but I can see that there
is an effect to Tube and Pipe industry as well.
My experiences are coming from machinery sales point of view and based on the feed back from
my colleagues around the world they seem to agree that some sort of decline has been going on also within
our industry. Is it going to be long one or just short drop remains to be seen.
Good memories from AC/DC concert
Before Midsummer I told you about George Thorogood and Destroyers and AC/DC's concert in Helsinki.
Now, after being there I can tell you that those good old guys are just getting better. Especially AC/DC with Agnus Young and
his guitar. I was positively surprised about the concert. At the airport I had a pleasure to meet the drummer
of AC/DC, Phil Rudd, and talk for a while when waiting for a plane departure. Now AC/DC t-shirt is hanging on my workroom's wall at my house
with his autograph.
Cheers!
