Producing Metal Parts from Tubing

The company SINICO S.p.A., Italy, has 37 years' experience to its credit in the design and construction of high production cut-off rotary transfer machines for producing metal parts obtained from tubing.

The machines are fully automatic and specialise in cut-off/end working. By end-working we mean all the operations that can be carried out by normal machine tools through chip removal (such as chamfering, facing, centering, turning, drilling, threading, tapping, milling, grooving, splining etc.) and deformation (flaring, tapering, pressing, marking, knurling etc.). A wide range of metal materials, from stainless steel to copper, titanium, Inconel etc. can be processed and all operations are completed in one single clamping !

A wide range of tube materials cam be processed, generally from 10 to 110 mm diameter and 15 to 640 mm length. The machines can be integrated with special cleaning, washing, drying and piece-collecting systems and plants.

The tolerances, for the length of the parts produced, are ± 0.025 mm for varying lengths up to 350 mm. The movement of the operating units is hydraulically controlled as is that of the cut-off unit, while the rotary transfer is activated by a hydraulic/mechanical circuit.

The work cycles are generally PLC controlled. The use of NC equipment is more usual for positioning the operating units and to meet market requirements; new NC applications are being considered for the cut-off unit (using a circular saw blade HSS type or covered CrN, TiN, TiCN, TiAIN etc.) and the bar feeder unit (which continually feeds the rotary transfer with new tubular bars, taking them indipendently from the automatic loader).

These machines are suitable for a very wide range of applications, in particular for the components sector, automobile (55%) and hydraulics (10%) industries. Increased demand in recent years has led SINICO to expand and confirm its position on an international level and has stimulated the company to invest in specialised personnel, technology and marketing. After-sales and spare parts services are available.
