Precision high-speed saw RASACUT:
Sawing fixed lengths of 4.5 metres with precision
For a manufacturer of scaffolding RSA recently completed a processing centre which automatically separates tubes and sections of up to 13 metres, saws them quickly and precisely and evenly removes the burrs on the inside and outside edges at both tube ends.

One particular challenge faced by the manufacturer was to achieve a high level of precision for large fixed lengths. This was achieved, for example, by the adjustment spindle of the length stop being mechanically supported at lengths of over 3000 mm in order to prevent inaccurate measurements occurring. Under production conditions, tolerances of 0.3 mm have been recorded at lengths of up to 4500 mm.
"In particular for longer lengths, the advantages of our "cockpit principle" can be clearly seen", explains Rainer Schmidt, Managing Director of RSA-Germany, referring to the short set-up times for the RASACUT. "As a result of the control elements being arranged in a central position, the operator doesn't have to move around the equipment as much, saving time and, subsequently, money." The bundle loader can be adjusted along its entire length using just one lever, the length stop of the saw and the automatic deburring machine are repositioned fully automatically to the values set on the control panel and do not have to be readjusted manually. The manufacturer specifies a time of approx. 5 minutes for a complete format change.

and diameter which have been set.
