New laser cutting station for LAI East

LAI East, also known as Laser Applications, Inc., Westminster, Md., announced the plans to install a laser cutting station for tube processing during the third quarter. LAI East recently installed a slow-flow 400-W CO2 laser and now there will be a 6 kW and a 5 kW precision laser workstations more.

The laser workstations are designed to produce precision-machined components for medical, consumer, paper, power generation, and other industries. The lasers will be used to process a variety of industrial and consumer products, including turbine rings, door locks, and corrugating rolls used to make cardboard boxes.

According to Sales Manager Thomas Sterner "The new laser stations allow us to increase the production of several products we manufacture using high-speed lasers for cutting, welding, and heat treating,"
