New bending facility for tubes and hollow sections.
UK-Based Angle Ring Company, which specialises in both hot bending and cold rolling of steel sections and tubes for the construction, engineering and process industries, has commissioned a new large diameter tube bending line.
The facility , which comprises a massive new induction bending machine together with a 1500 tonne hydraulic press capability and associated plant, can bend pipe and tube up to 915mm diameter.
Rectangular hollow sections up to 500mm x 300mm and square hollow sections up to 650mm square can also be curved.
The new line has been designed to handle tubes and pipes up to 30m long.
The induction-bending process enables tubes, hollow sections and open sections to be curved to much smaller radii and with much less deformation than is possible with cold roller bending. Of special importance is the fact that all Angle Ring's induction bending machines combine the low deformation of hot bending with the accuracy previously only associated with roller bending. The end products are smoothly, uniformly and accurately curved.
Tubes, pipes and hollow sections can be quickly curved to suit individual project needs - from simple circular curves or to co-ordinates.
