After 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing tube mills, Mr. Andrea Toffanin, President of "Toffanin & C." in Venice - Italy, has developed a long awaited and revolutionary new product: a Computerized Weld Box (patented), better identifiable as "Toffanin Head"

This new Weld Box is operated by an Hydraulic Power Unit through an Industrial Computer with Custom Software and guarantees a complete and true automatic repeatability of forging rolls set up by performing the following:

• remote control of individual forging roll positioning
• remote control of synchronized forging rolls positioning
• remote control of forging rolls pressure load
• remote control of complete Head vertical adjustment
• remote control of complete Head horizontal adjustment
• individual forging roll quick changing on slide support
• programmable repositioning according to selected parameters
• digital connection to tube mill and/or HF welder
• digital connection to printer and/or to customer's computer

The above features mean:

• better and constant weld quality
• better and constant seam control
• faster, easier and safer forging rolls replacement
• automatic repeatability of complete Weld Box settings
• greater safety for mill operator
• easier accomplishment of any production Standard

This new "Toffanin Head" is intended for all tube mills ( existing and new ) where tube quality is a must, time saving is important and operator safety is considered.

A custom design of Roll Slide Supports is also possible, in order to use existing forging rolls, whenever compatible.

The "real thing", a working Toffanin Head, will be presented for the first time in Dusseldorf at the TUBE-2000 Show, in April, in the Intertube Booth Nr. 3F06
