Burlington, ON - Cutting Systems Inc. the North American Agent for DutchSaws cold cut saws and Delhi-Solac is pleased to announce the successful installation and start-up of a DutchSaws FCH 85M fully automated cold sawing machine, coupled and synchronized with a DutchSaws DB 76, de-burring machine at Delhi-Solac - St. Jerome, Quebec plant.

Working through its Quebec Representative - Scie-Tech Ltee, CSI was able to complete the installation during the first week of August, 2000. Taking only 12 hours to install both machines, Delhi- Solac reports that the machines are operating excellent with absolutely no problems.

"As a progressive company, constantly looking to improve our processes, we were looking to get away from the "old way" of cutting like shearing or just tearing up the material." stated Pierre Boyer, V.P. of Operation for Delhi-Solac, "After some research, I was quite impressed with what the DutchSaws machinery can do! Synchronized with the DB 76 de-burring unit, we were able to create quite an efficient production cell."

The FC H 85 M, is equipped with a 3 ton bundle loader, tandem roller feed, a patented 6 point clamping system and hydraulic clamping digital readout material stops. Currently Delhi-Solac is achieving over 5000 cuts per shift, and is continuously increasing, as the operators become more familiar with the saw. Control is through a PLC, Siemens OP 7 control panel mounted at eye level where the operator can easily program all functions necessary for efficient running of the saw. The product is automatically discharged on to the DB 76 conveyor into the de-burring unit where it is automatically de-burred on both ends by metal wire brushes, producing a very clean finish, and holding a tolerance level of + or - .005.

Delhi-Solac, one of the highest producing tube mills in Canada, has two plant locations one in St. Jerome, Quebec and another in Delhi, Ontario. It services the furniture & fixture, fencing and automotive industries tubing needs.
