Hydroform Solutions, a division of Royal Laser Tech Corporation, Ontario, Canada, founded in January 2000, will start prototyping and small-batch production of hydroformed parts by mid 2000. Hydroform Solutions has placed an order for two hydroforming machines with Anton Bauer GmbH & Co. KG, Germany. The machines have a patented mechanical bayonet die locking system and a die clamping force of up to 60,000 kN. Their four-column frame construction allows for a flexible integration in the workshop of Hydroform Solutions, not requiring floor pits.

By means of a die change system and quick connecting systems, die change times are reduced to a minimum. The possibility of remote trouble shooting via modem guarantees for highest process reliability and equipment availability. The design of the hydraulics and controls alllows for a later use of the machines in large-batch production. A comprehensive training program by Anton Bauer will provide Royal Laser with in-depth know-how of the hydroforming process
