Is it as hot with tube business? Not really hot, but better than an year ago which is the easiest
comparison. Last year tube industry was uncertain what's going on. The first half of this
year seems to be more relaxed. Could it be the fact that Japan
and Asia generally seems to be showing more positive signals now? I don't know.
But what I do know is that in this world the information goes so fast globally. Some 20
years ago it was something like the good old Reuters that we relied on. It spread the international news in
objective way indeed. Today all the Media players in every country can get international news easily from many
sources. Unfortunately not always as objective way as it should be. The point is that the media today is quite "scandal oriented", because
it sells better. It is a powerful tool and affects peoples mind - today more and more internationally. Tube Industry is truly international forum
and it faces all these world's political and economical changes fast. What are the effects from Kosovo problem for example?
These are some of the things that I am wondering here together with midnight sun and a glass of beer. One thing is sure: it will be interesting
to see what the coming fall brings.
The counter on the main page of TubeNet has reached 50000. This is a milestone
indeed. At this moment the daily hits are often exceeding 300.
Also the Mailing list is developing. The number of subscribers is currently over 900
and I expect that 1000 will be reached within 2 months. That is a powerful tool
if you have questions or you are searching something related to tubes and pipes.
The mailing list digest is made approximately once a month. Below you can find
the recent statistics from the subscribers of the mailing list.
As always, feel free to send me your own opinions and observations. I will never
release names form commentators without clear permission. What we need
is more communication.
See you around,
