President Bush approved Steel tariffs - Welded steel pipes included
The hot news has been President Bush's decision to impose
tariffs on steel imports. This includes welded steel pipes,
Carbon and alloy fittings and flanges. White House is stating
that:"A tariff of 15 percent will be imposed on imports
of certain welded tubular products". Also, a tariff of 13
percent will be imposed on imports of carbon and alloy
fittings and flanges".
The Europe Union has made an official complaint to WTO about the US tariffs.
Also Australia and New Zealand has made the same. European Union
announced also that it may impose some other actions against US tariffs
within next 3 months.
Three new improvements for TubeNet
I am glad to introduce you three new improvements for TubeNet.
- New Marketplace system
- New Infocenter Bulletin Board
- New Register system with pictures
New Marketplace system
The new Marketplace system has many new features. You can now add postings as
before but now you can also change and remove them if you like. Also picture can be included
with the posted message. I would think that second hand machine dealers will love this
feature.
New Infocenter Bulletin Board
This is still under testing, but I have to say that I like the idea. Now you can leave question and
others can post their reply and/or send you directly an answer by email. In many other sites this kind
of Bulletin Board has found plenty of readers. Feel free to take advantage of this new system.
Once people will find it, I feel it will create lot's of traffic.
New Register system with pictures
The good old TubeNet register has been updated also. Now you can put a picture there together with your
registration details. How it works? Very simple. If you have a picture on your own website (or practically in any website)
that you would like to use with your registration, just put it's address (URL) to your registration details.
When the change is completed, the system will open this picture together with the description text
when you or any TubeNet visitor opens your page again at TubeNet.
Atlanta Marathon
The last thing I am telling you this time is pretty much personal and proud thing for me. One week after Fabtech Chicago I managed to run
Atlanta Marathon. 26.2 Miles (42.1 km) and the time was 4 hours 26 minutes and 56 seconds. The reason
why I am very happy about it is because it was my first marathon ever. The results can be seen
from http://www.atlantatrackclub.org/at03026.htm. The story goes like this:"Beer loving Tube man runs a marathon".
Cheers and let's run!
