Degree of wear and tear:

Class I : The pipes are new and have been kept for up to 15 years in
the State Reserve of the Russian Federation. For the mounting of gas
mains they are used after additional selective testing to confirm its
quality to the certificate, one pipe out of
the lot of 250 pipes.

Class II : These are used and have been dismantled from the national gas mains. They can serve for a further 18 -20 years. The pipes are
restored, peeled from insulation. The butt ends are flat. At the
customers discretion the surface of the pipes can be covered by
protective insulation.

For the mounting of gas mains they are used after additional
testing of the welded joints and the degree of ageing of the metal of
each pipe.
