Welding Costs Reduced The cost of Water Soluble Purge material for the manufacture of welding purge dams has been dramatically reduced, thanks to a new manufacturing method. The new standard Weld Purge Film Kits still contain 20 square meters of purge film with two bottles of water soluble adhesive, a cutting knife to make the water soluble dams and an instruction manual. Water-soluble film is used to make very tough, gas tight dams in pipes where there is no access after welding to remove mechanical purging systems. As well as for weld purging, the film can be used in pipes out in the open, to prevent draughts/wind blowing down the pipe to interfere with other operations. After use, the film and adhesive are simply washed away and they dissolve completely in cold water without any residue. The Film is available with trace element and chemical analysis certification.
