Schaumburg, IL Finn-Power USA, recently introduced the FP170, the largest and strongest production swaging/crimping machine in the market today. This machine is Finn-Power USA's latest addition to their family of hydraulic swaging machines, with a swaging force of up to 830 tons. The FP170 can handle large hose applications up to 13 inches in diameter. The standard swaging force of the FP170 can be 830 tons, 660 tons or 350 tons on special request. The maximum operating pressure of the machine is 350 bar. The FP170 has a swaging range of about 360 mm. The length of the master dies is 220 mm, with a maximum opening of +155 mm. This gives the FP170 a 475 mm opening at the widest setting, without dies in the machine. There are two control options for the FP 170: The "IS" controller offers semi-automatic and automatic operation through the use of a 10-turn dial. This user-friendly control can increase cycle time by controlling the opening diameter of the swaging operation. The second option is the "VS" controller, that meets production requirements quickly and effectively. The operator-friendly control offers 200 memory settings for swaging diameters, die sets and off set, and is simple to program. The FP170 can use standard dies from smaller Finn-Power machines with the use of adapters, as well as it's own tooling for larger applications.
