NEWS STORY TUBE MILLS HAVE LESS DOWNTIME
A number of leading tube manufacturers have switched to Multi-Strike tungsten electrodes for TIG and plasma welding to increase their welding time and to decrease downtime. Tube Mill operators have found that by using Multi Strike Non Thoriated tungsten electrodes, running time has been increased between electrode changes. In addition to the cost benefits of improved throughput there are also health benefits, in so far as the Multi-Strikes are free of the radioactive and carcinogenic thoria found in the red-tipped thoriated tungstens. Multi Strike Tungsten Electrodes are manufactured using statistical process control techniques, with computer control of all processes involved in manufacturing. As a consequence, the electrodes are totally traceable and each package is delivered with full traceability. By using Multi Strike Electrodes, operators of Tube Mills can benefit by knowing that having set up their mills to run continuously for a number of hours, they will not be let down by an inferior electrode which will fail because of being manufactured inexpensively and sold without any backup.
Multi Strike electrodes are delivered with instruction booklets giving useful tips on tungsten use and performance, as well as traceability and Material Safety Data Sheets.
Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Limited has pioneered the use of these "green" environmentally friendly tungsten electrodes since the early 1980's and have many thousands of customers worldwide, so the high volumes of electrodes sold allow the most cost effective and attractive sales prices available.
