Kenton Utility Service Management Ltd, the Barnsley-based national utility service provider, has announced a major new 2 million pounds contract with Anglian Water Services to install a 12 kilometre water pipeline linking a water plant with British Energy's nuclear power station at Hartlepool and Huntsman North Tees chemical plant.
The pipeline will supply de-mineralised water for the nuclear power station and chemical plant via three separate pipelines. The pipes are to be installed using innovative directional drilling to navigate a river, railway line and other obstacles including four crossings of a pipeline carrying oil from the Norwegian oil fields in the North Sea.
Commenting on the development Diarmaid Kelly, managing director of Kentons said; "This project provides many engineering challenges in a heavily industrialised area. Kentons' experiences in project management and engineering expertise have proved invaluable on this project."
Kenton Utility Service Management Ltd is a leading independent service provider in distribution asset management to the UK utilities sector, with a projected turnover of 70 million for the year ending April 2002 and over 1400 employees operating from a network of 24 sites across the UK.
