Company: AddisonMckee Ltd, UK
Attn: Peter Chapman

AddisonMckee, a global leader in the tube bending and end-forming market, has announced their expansion into China. The company, with current facilities in Preston, UK, and Wilmington (OH), USA, has appointed Mr Jason Carline as vice president and general manager of the new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Tianjin, China. This latest AddisonMckee facility will commence manufacturing operations during the second half of 2006.

Mr Peter Chapman, AddisonMckees sales and marketing director, commented It has long been our intention to provide locally-manufactured and high quality tube manipulation solutions across the Asian-Pacific industrial and automotive sectors. Mr Carline joins our global management team with capital machinery expertise within the tube industry and a wealth of local market knowledge achieved through ten years of sales experience within Asia. Besides his ability to speak fluent Mandarin, Jason offers an enviable range of skills and qualities required to make AddisonMckee-Tianjin (AMT) an outstanding success.

Now reaching almost every country in the world with its range of tube manipulation and end-forming technologies, AddisonMckee considers the move into China as vital in establishing a secure foothold in the Asian marketplace and another step in the companys drive to maintain its global market leadership position.

With highly trained staff on the ground in China manufacturing the industrys leading technologies developed both in the UK and USA, added Mr Chapman, we will be better positioned than ever before to capture local Asian market opportunities while reducing costs to maintain a competitive advantage.

The expansion plans for China follow on from AddisonMckees recent announcement of their intention to construct a brand new 78,000ft2 facility at their USA-based location, a move designed to provide 66 per cent more manufacturing space, with an additional 85,000ft2 for future expansion.

This facility primarily serves the North American automotive market with benders, end-formers and tooling and the additional space is required for the introduction of new products, an automation group, and future business acquisitions related to other non-automotive markets.

Over the past three years, AddisonMckees revenue has grown by over 20 per cent and is projected to grow by a further 16 per cent over the next two years. Offering a wide range of sophisticated models, as well as the new Powerbend machines for those customers with more basic tube bending requirements, AddisonMckee is capable of manufacturing CNC tube bending, end-formers and tooling for virtually any application and is equipped with the latest computer-aided manufacturing techniques.

AddisonMckee is principally owned by WHI Capital Partners (WHICP), a Chicago-based private equity group that invests in middle market, industry-leading companies.
